The Hedge Plus production calculator can be used for either corn or soybeans by selecting from the first dropdown. It will then produce both a total cost of production AND break even sale price per bushel based on your entered zip code, acres, and yield. The tool does provide DEFAULT values for your area by clicking on “LOAD DEFAULTS” at the bottom of the input fields. Or you can manually enter your costs if you know them. Their are no default values for the following entry fields: rent per acre, salary (or operating income), and repairs/miscellaneous. Entering your own numbers in those spaces will generate the most accurate data and the most accurate break even sale price per bushel.
Once all entries have been entered simply click on “generate costs” at the bottom for your breakdown based upon the figures you’ve inputed.
